Thank you, Jeff Hudson and The Davis Enterprise, for the excellent article on Sunday's front page. Readers, if you missed it — it was Super Bowl Sunday, after all — check out The Enterprise online, www.davisenterprise.com, to read it in full.

The Davis school board, administration, teachers and classified staff have been doing a remarkable job of keeping the quality of education delivered to our K-12 students high in spite of the dramatic cuts that have been required because of the dismal state funding. The benefits brought to our students because of the community support through the parcel tax cannot be overestimated.

Measure C is the parcel tax renewal that will be voted on in a special mail-only ballot (which provides the opportunity for all to vote at a much lower cost than a traditional ballot process). Registered voters will receive their ballots soon -- vote, and mail the ballot back.

And please understand, many of us who are senior citizens choose not to take the senior exemption as allowed by this measure -- but prefer to pay our fair share to support the education of all of our community children. Maintaining quality K-12 education in Davis keeps the value of our property strong.

Vote yes on Measure C.
