Breaking News: UCD students break record on first day polls available on campus.

As reported by on the ground volunteer Don Saylor -- Today UC Davis students exceeded the number of votes cast on campus in 2004. It was the first of five days polls will be open for all students, faculty and staff to vote. Numbers to come.

And how did Measure W fair among students?  Let's get a report from those who joined Mayor Pro Tem Don persuading students, Board Member Gina Daleiden and Campaign Co-Chair Janet Berry:

"It's really uplifting to work tabling at UC Davis.  The students are receptive and interested in how the state budget crisis is devastating k-12 public education.  Most all seemed incredulous that programs like hands-on science, music, librarians, foreign language, art, social studies, etc. would even be considered as expendable.  They know how tough college classes are and that all the prep they had in k-12 was absolutely necessary.  It restores your confidence in the future to speak with these young people.  I highly recommend this volunteer duty for Measure W--plus it's for all those k-12 students to come."  ~ Measure W Co-chair Janet Berry

"UCD tabling was so energizing and heartening!  After talking to so many students, I really believe the UC students are going to support Measure W in a BIG way!"
~ DJUSD Board Trustee Gina Daleidon

Measure W will continue to talk to students all week.  Please join us at the MU on the UCD Campus.  We're always looking for more volunteers during the 11:30-1:30pm shift.

Go Measure W!
