Measure W will help to preserve the quality of the public education in Davis , and I support it whole-heartedly. I support the measure for three reasons: for the past, for the future, and for everyone.

For the past: our daughter was educated in Davis schools and because of the excellence of the science programs went on to UC Davis, received a B.S. in environmental studies, and then became a teacher at a Davis elementary school, giving me an inside view of the excellence of our schools.

For the sake of the future: I have a grandson who will be starting school in a year, and I hope for him the best in education.

For all of us: democracy can only work with a well-educated, curious and open-minded population, and excellent education available to all is the key to this.
