Don Saylor - City Council's unanimous support
".... On a unanimous vote, the Davis City Council resolved to support Measure W and to encourage all residents of Davis to exercise their right to vote...."
On September 23, 2008, the five members of the Davis City Council
voted unanimously to support Measure W on the November ballot. This measure will provide necessary financial support for students served
by the Davis Joint Unified School District.
A defining element of our community is commitment to schools and children. The consistently strong performance and solid reputation of Davis schools enhances the quality of life for all our residents.
One measure of the contribution of Davis schools to our community is the solid property values we enjoy in Davis. While this is a great
place to grow up, we all benefit from investments in our public schools.
Over the past 30 years, our community has consistently worked
together to fill the funding gap resulting from reduced state support for education. Measure W is necessary to maintain this long term effort. This is truly a life preserver for our schools and the programs this community has repeatedly supported.
On a unanimous vote, the Davis City Council resolved to support
Measure W and to encourage all residents of Davis to exercise their
right to vote. Please join us to support our schools and children on
November 4.
