Terrence Hunley - We expect a first-rate education

"With just a small investment, only $120 annually, or $10 per month, we can guarantee that these essentials remain intact and that the second most educated city in the country doesn't offer its children a second-rate education."

CNN and Money Magazine ranked Davis the second most educated city in the nation in 2006. This distinction and the fact that our public schools are some of the top in the state attract people to raise their families here. But the Davis public school system is threatened by the state's budget crisis, putting the city's school kids and the entire community at risk.

Davis residents care about education because we know first-hand how important it is to enrich young minds with science, math, English, social studies, foreign language, music, art and athletics. Smaller class size, librarians and programs are critical to intellectual and social development.

With just a small investment, only $120 annually, or $10 per month, we can guarantee that these essentials remain intact and that the second most educated city in the country doesn't offer its children a second-rate education.
