Amy Abramson - Save our music
The Davis Schools Orchestral Music Association (DSOMA) voted unanimously to endorse Measure W, and we ask you to join us in voting yes for our students.
Last Spring, facing the loss of our elementary music program, DSOMA and other Davis music booster organizations banded together to "Save Our Music," and the Davis community responded with over $200,000 in donations. As a result, this year over 800 elementary students receive weekly orchestral and band instrument instruction during the school day. In addition, 5th and 6th grade students continue to have the opportunity to participate in the All City Orchestra and Band programs where they grow and perform in a larger musical group.
These community donations gave our elementary students one more year of music. Measure W will ensure that this program continues for at least three more years. And if that's not enough, for the same $10 per month per single family household, Measure W also funds librarians, elementary science, foreign language in junior high and high school, and class size reduction in 9th and 10th grade English and math classes. It’s a great deal for Davis and for our students.

Vote yes on W. Our students are depending on it.
